I am a Respiratory Therapist who works three 12 hour shifts a week. As I do not take any work home with me, I have 4 days off a week to do what I want. What I want to do is woodworking/projects that i can do in my barn/shop/mancave and get away from life for a while. I am serious about this trade/craft, but do not take my work seriously. I have google'd many projects online and have used those projects for myself. They may be hodgepodged featherboards with mistakes or actual nice looking projects.

I am going to post everything that I do in my shop, along with a shop tour if people are interested. I am just a "on the side" type of woodworker with no formal training, but I love to read and do jobs that I find online as long as I think that I can at least make an honest attempt at making them decent. I only make projects for myself and family, and I only do what I know how. As time goes on, I will learn more skills and tricks to make better projects, but until then you will see all of my do's and don't on here with nothing to hide.

Please refrain from commenting negatively, as I am a beginner basically. If you do comment negatively, please give me some constructive criticism with as little negativity as possible. Any extra stress in my life after coming home from saving/losing patients everyday is more than I want to put forth in this endeavor.

Hello,

My name is matt, and i’m new to this community. I have just started back into serious hobbyist woodworking and have started to purchase and build new tools/jigs for my workshop. I am NOT a professional woodworker (as you will soon see), but I can follow instructions and I have a fair bit of ingenuity. I have some pictures of some recent projects that I have made based on some stuff on youtube/pinterest/etc…..Remember, these projects are not pretty, as they are for my enjoyment only, and I usually tend to use scrap/recycled materials.

Here’s a battery dispenser that I created based off of a pinterst post, and an article in wood magazine.

Here is an overarm dust collection unit that I made because the blade guard I got with my used ridgid tablesaw I bought a few months back was terrible. Here it is. Enjoy.

Really Really rough featherboard, but does the job. I needed a second one (other than my aftermarket store bought one) for a project and threw it together in a few minutes.

All of the posts that are on here have been projects that I have completed in the last month or so. At least the ones that I have posted since posting my first time today. I uploaded a few projects as you can see. LOL

here’s a drill press spindle sanding table. I needed one, and put it together. It’s not pretty, but very very functional. Dust collection works great on it.
