Topic tags/keywords: question

I have seen several of these trees around East Central U.S. (this one was in Western North Carolina at the rest area/welcome center).

I really like this kind of tree and want to plant a few of them on my property.

Anybody know what kind it is?

-- Last week I finally got my $*i# together. Unfortunately, it was in my shop, so I will probably never find it again.

Maybe eastern hemlock.

I don’t know exactly what that tree is. Anyways, doesn’t look great for woodwork anyway.

I need a closer look. I’ve never seen an eastern hemlock, but it sure looks like a worthless old white fir tree to me.

Possible Norway spruce, could you get a closer picture the one you have is difficult to tell.
