The green parrot stalking in the background looks and acts pretty nervous. No “birdbrain” there. May well be the smartest one in the room. CRAZY!

I see nothing bad he is doing and everything is secure very well.

12” faceplate is big but I am thinking 18” would be much better.

I know guys who just have to turn everything big and more power to them, I can not handle stuff that big nor do I want to. However, that Lathe sure would be nice to have. :)

I always wanted to turn a table top on a lathe of 80” or so but it is hard to find something with that kind of swing.

Have you shown any of your turning yet? I would like to see what you have. :)

Been a long time since I watched that but isn’t that the one where the speaker cone basically turns out to be junk?

I am just starting to learn to turn wood and it kicks my but

Welcome to the club … maybe we should form a support group! Turning is addictive and can steal all of your time … I just spent the better part of three days building a set of fixtures to cut segments for turned bowls and vessels. And my better half has run out of places to put the stuff I turn … I either need to build some shelves somewhere in the house, or unload some to create space to put the stuff I will be turning in the future. See the vicious cycle?

I’m a new turner and love it but that looks like it would really suck. Put aside the giant scary piece of wood spinning in front of you. The rough turning looks soooooo tedious.

I would love to turn something like that! Just don’t think my harbor freight 10×18 inch lathe could handle it. Thanks for sharing.

New turner, and it sure is addictive
