This is a 112 year old Pepper tree in my yard that’s been dead for about 2yrs now. The bulk of the Burl is about 16ft high w/ a waist line of about 19 ft. circumference (about 5 1/2 ft. across). I’ve attached a few pics of the burl that was on the upper branches and if that’s any indication on the Burl below its got to be amazing! The inside is full of skull faces and butterfly patterns and has lots of contrasting colors. The pictures don’t do it justice. Any buyers out there?

Buyers? Hell, I would be hiding that thing in my shop under lock and key, dreaming of the things I would want to make from it.

Awesome. Looks like a California pepper so I guess you’re in the Southwest?

How’s the wood itself as far as weight and hardness? People call the wood of the myrtle, or bay laurel as it’s known to non-hippies, “pepperwood”, but I’m not familiar with the wood of the pepper tree other than having pruned some branches here and there over the years.
