Topic tags/keywords: wanted lathe woodturning

Hello everyone,

I am a new turner and live in an apartment in Chandler, AZ. I have been turning for approximately three months now and I am completely addicted. I am a disabled vet am turning is a great out for me. So I am hoping someone can help me find a real good used lathe. I would prefer a 12” lathe with variable speed if possible. If variable speed is not available, it is not a deal breaker. However I mostly turn bowls and start with pretty rough logs. Actually they are firewood logs.

I do not have a tremendous amount of money to spend. That is why I am looking for a used lathe. So if you think you might be able to help out, I would greatly appreciate it. If you would also like to see some of my work, please feel free to visit and like my Facebook page, Firewood Creations.

Thank you,

Hard to help you find a lathe for apartment woodturning. I found this Sorby on AZ, CL. No idea where this lathe actually located. Not real sure what auction and Pay Pal all about sounds like an E-bay deal.

I remember this lathe sold here in the 1990’s. Sorby stopped manufacturing them, and seller is asking what that lathe cost new. If could see and hear it run might be worth $250. Very hard to find parts for this lathe.
