Topic tags/keywords: question

I was at a local glass shop today and they had a project on display that I want to make. I have an unsightly panel box that everyone has to pass as they come in the house and I’m wanting to build a mirror over it but still keep it accessible.

My problem is that in the project they used full extension slides to lift a mirror and when fully extended the slides held the mirror in the upright position without any addition supports. I couldn’t find a manufacture or any information on the slides themselves but was hoping someone on LJ might know where to look.

Although this is not the piece that I saw, I found a picture on the web that shows what I’m wanting to do, with a friction type lock on the slides

There was another post about this same thing, wish I could remember what it was and don’t know if they figured it out, but you might try Searching on here. Otherwise, I would be no help but interested.

Look like a cool project.
