Topic tags/keywords: router

Could someone in Europe who has experience with routers/bits give some feedback
regarding subject ?

I came to Europe with a router with 1/2” collet and have a 12mm collet assembly. I only have
a few router bits so I want to know whether there is a big difference in cost/availability
before going one way or the other (I did put on the 12mm collet assembly thinking
metric is the way to go here but I can change it back ;))

Also, any recommendation on good source for good quality/reasonable price router bits.

Where are you located in Europe?

Vjeko, metric is the only way to go in Europe, unless you are in the good ole UK. I see in your profile that you are located in Croatia. That means 12 mm. bits are what you need. Routers over there are usually for 12 mm bits with an insert collet for 8 mm (~3/8”) bits.

You may be able to find some places online that sell you and ship to your country 1/2” bits, but I doubt you’d encounter any brick and mortar store offering them. Beware of cheap HSS sets, go the carbide way, though.

Still have my barely used B&D router back in Europe.
