yesterday I received my October issue of Woodworkers Journal magazine and in the back it had an add for Harbor Freight. they have the 2 hp dust collector on sale now for $159.99. I called the local store and asked them if they had one and how to use this coupon with out chopping a bunch of holes in a magazine I had not read. They said just to bring it in with me so I did. They scanned the coupon and me and the dust collector were on our way back to the house. now to get the good filter and other goodies to set it up. wanted to let you folks know so if you are on the edge about getting one. I have not seen a price this low on one for quite some time.

Note that you don’t have to do all those conversion and mods to begin using it right now.
I really like my HF collector and hooked it to my TS as soon as I got it.
Made a Noticeable difference in dust in my basement shop.

I bought a $10 plastic barrel & a PVC elbow plus the HF dust collection “kit” along with the dust collection system. I made a cyclone separator for the barrel lid & just vent the exhaust hose outside. Eventually I’d like to get the good filter but for the time being it works great.

If you vent outside, you don’t need a filter. Would be nice during hot or cold weather so you don’t have to vent out your cool or heat.
