Topic tags/keywords: table legs turned furniture legs

I am in the process of building a copy of Admiral Nelson’s chart table for my son-in-law who will get his PHD in British Naval History from Oxford this year. The table has fluted column legs and I do not have a lathe in my small shop. Finding straight fluted legs proved rather limiting as most were tapered. I found one company that offered exactly what I needed for about $120 each leg. Another had legs for $80 each and then wanted $130 for shipping and handling. The most well advertised leg company had nothing even close to my need. I had almost given up finding fluted legs when I ran across Adams Wood Products Inc. web site. I found suitable fluted island legs that work for my project for under $50 each with shipping of $20.

I received the legs via UPS this afternoon and am very impressed with their quality. They are solid cherry of uniform wood – no sap wood anywhere. They are are finished to about 150 or 180 grit smoothness and will only need a minor bit of sanding. They were carefully boxed and padded and arrived in perfect condition. I will certainly order from Adams Wood Products the next time I need legs.

Yeah, Adams is great. I have ordered from them in the past when I needed some bun feet. Top quality cherry, and well turned.
