Topic tags/keywords: humor resource question tip I was wondering if there are more guys or girls like me. I’m a night worker and I surf this site at night checking unanswered forums and looking at your newest projects. Unfortunately it seems to be a ghost town. If anyone here is a night owl and would like to post some of your woodworking knowledge or chat about tools (who doesn’t love talking about tools) maybe you can post here and introduce yourself so we can have a little evening entertainment. I’ll start. The names Greg Ferdinand. I own Ferdinand and son construction. We renovate all types of homes and do anything from the foundation up. You can check out my Facebook to see some pictures of our work. I also work for the Long Island Railroad from midnight to 8 am on the weekdays. (The reason I’m up at this ungodly hour) I enjoy working in my shop whenever I have spare time, which recently isn’t often. But I’m always looking to learn and discuss with my fellow lumberjocks. So if anyone wants to chime in feel free. -- Greg - Ferdinand and Son Construction: Do it right the first time. Like us on Facebook |

In. I’ve led a fairly boring worklife, so I won’t get into that… Woodworking has taken primary passion in my life, but my other passion, video games, fights to regain the crown often. :-) -- He who dies with the most tools... dies with the emptiest wallet. |

Just consoles for me (PS3 and PS4), though I might build a steambox/htpc pretty soon. There’s some pc exclusives I’ve been wanting to try. What’s your shop like? And since you’re a renovation guy, mind if I pick your brain regarding a detached garage on pillars? -- He who dies with the most tools... dies with the emptiest wallet. |

I have an 800 sq ft detached garage. And right now it’s a mess. Lol. Pick my brain all u want. Sounds like it should work. Careful jacking though. If the structure is leaning bad it might be an issue. Have any pics? -- Greg - Ferdinand and Son Construction: Do it right the first time. Like us on Facebook |

Hey guys southern indiana here. Commercial diver underwater welder and journeyman sheet metal worker. Wood working is suspose to be a hobby for me but my inlaws keep getting me customers. Our weather here is getting nice so finally some shop time. I’m also restoring a 69 datsun roadster but with the full job list she has just been sitting for the last 6 years. |

Lloyd I like u already. I’m a NYS certified structural welder myself. I don’t use it often anymore but still love it. I’m also a crazy Datsun fan. Big fan of the Z car until the 2nd gen 300zx. Owned a few since I was a teen. How’d you get into underwater welding? That has always fascinated me -- Greg - Ferdinand and Son Construction: Do it right the first time. Like us on Facebook |

Well I flew night express freight for over 30 years, now that I’m retired I have insomnia. I am up at all hours of the night, so you never know when I will be on. I have have always been interested in woodworking and have done minor projects over the years. My arthritis has finally gotten so bad I can’t play golf anymore, so last summer I bought some better machines and startled getting more into woodworking. I am still what I consider a total novice but I am learning as much as I can. I have a lot of projects in mind, but as this is a hobby and due to my arthritis I can’t work very long at each session, it will take a while to finish each project. -- Earl |

Still here. :-) What’s keeping me up now is the impending arrival of my new table saw (steel city 35950), hoping it doesn’t show up on wednesday or thursday (MORE crappy weather), and designing a torsion box assembly/outfeed table for it. I’m so ready for spring… -- He who dies with the most tools... dies with the emptiest wallet. |

I’m usually up late. The site dies by 11 PM Pacific. I’m nearly retired, not working much. More of a wannabe WW at this point. I will be glad to get all the business material out of the garage and get ready for more WW ;-)) -- Bob in WW ~ "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H.
