I ran across this ad on CL this morning. http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/tls/4354564520.html Is the newer tools from Delta anywhere near as good as the vintage tools? In particular the band saw. I would be interested except it’s only a 10” and I really want a 14”. The pictures are not good but these tools appear to be in good condition. More curious than anything at this point. The TS with the Unifence is an excellent deal @ $250….it could go fast. The DP seems like a decent deal too. The BS isn’t priced at that well IMO, and since you’re not interested, I’d take a pass. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

The TS with the Unifence is an excellent deal @ $250….it appears to include the original jetlock fence too, which is worth $50-$75….it could go fast. The DP seems like a decent deal too. Looks a lot like a 14” bs not a ten just by looking at the table alignment pin being on the side plus I don’t thing the 10” bs looks as beefie, I would jump on the deal for the ts though |

500 for all three is a good deal. That is 166 for each machine. You could sell the band saw for 150 and still be money ahead. |

+1 for Woodmaster1’s suggestion. Were I closer…much closer… They’d all be in my shop. And I’d be in the doghouse! $500 is a steal. -- Gene 'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton |

Pretty sure that is a 14 inch bandsaw. Are you close enough that it wouldn’t take too much time to go look? -- https://www.jtplaneworks.com - In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is. |

The saw looks like a 34-444, and the Unifence appears to be missing the fence. Wonder why he has that old fence on the saw? Anyway, I had one and it’s well worth what he’s asking, even if you have to buy an aftermarket fence (the Uni-t-Fence. I also have that drill press and band saw. the drill press is worth that much easily (should have a 3/4 HP motor which puts it above any of the ones you can get today. The band saw appears to be a 28-245 (or so) and is a 14” model, but only has a 1/2 HP motor, which I found to be a little weak. Even so, buying all 3 for $500 would be a good deal, and you could sell off some stuff if you didn’t need it. At the very least it’s all worth a look. -- Our village hasn't lost it's idiot, he was elected to congress. |

Looks like a 14” BS to me—in fact, I woundn’t hesitate to bet $500 on the package. You can’t lose on this deal if it’s still available. -- John C. -- "Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth." George Washington |

That is a 14” bandsaw, my grandpa had the same one. That seems like an ok deal without the unifence on the tablesaw, having that makes it a good deal. I’d jump on this deal if I had room and they were a little closer. -- "Lack of effort will result in failure with amazing predictability" - Me |

I’d jump on it, those tools appear to be well cared for. Bring a tape and measure the band saw. If it is not 14” you could sell it and get some cash to go toward a 14”. A good deal for all at $500. -- Bondo Gaposis |

Yeah, I’d be over there with five bills in a heartbeat. Looks like a nice outfeed table as well for that TS. I wouldn’t dicker, just load up. |

If you need the saw it looks like a good deal. I’d buy the saw just for the fence and re-sell the saw (I’m not in the market for a new saw, but would like the fence). I also think the BS is a 14”. The giveaway is the belt drive motor in the rear. The 10 inchers I’m aware of had the motor side mounted on the lower housing. If it is a 14” it’s a good deal, if it’s a 10” it’s not. $150 for the DP is a good deal IMO. -- Tom Finnigan - Measures? We don't need no stinking measures! - Hmm, maybe thats why my project pieces don't fit. |

If the BS is 14”, I’d definitely grab it. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

There were 12” Delta band saws made at times. I’m not sure With the Unifence it’s a pretty good deal if you need those |

Well I hope the OP got over there and snapped up those tools because the ad is already gone! So I am betting someone went right over and plopped down 5 bills and loaded up the lot and smiled all the way home. -- "I work so I can fish"! |
