I don’t even think about the number of things I’d like to build. There are simply too many. Whether it’s a forum like this one, a catalog, or any number of other sources, I save a photo or link of something I see that I might want to make some day. For the past 15 years, I’ve spent a lot of shop time designing and building furniture for our home as well as a few things for my wife’s mother. During the times I’ve been busy on larger projects like beds and assorted cabinets, I always get sidetracked on smaller items. I’ve promised myself that I’ll work on nothing but smaller projects when I finish a queen-size platform bed that’s nearing completion. Maybe that will allow me to make some of the things I’ve tagged over the past few years!!! -- Bill, Thomasville, GA |

I seem to have a short attention span. I always find something else I want to build way before I finish the current project. Sometimes, I have several projects in the works. Then I can’t decide which one to work on first! :-( -- Handcrafted by Mike Henderson - Channelview, Texas |

I have 147 projects from LJs favorited right now. I think I need to review them since I’ve built a few already. Lately, it seems like I’ve been doing more repairs/rehabs than new builds. -- People say I hammer like lightning. It's not that I'm fast -- it's that I never hit the same place twice! |

I think I have a thousand pieces of wood pieces and parts for things I’m hoping to be done by Christmas…......but, I think Santa’s gonna be way late this year. -- Roger from KY. Work/Play/Travel Safe. Keep your dust collector fed. [email protected] |

My imagination is my list. I have 11 to finish for Christmas. It doesn’t seem right if I don’t have my back to the wall on deadlines. -- Nature created it, I just assemble it. |

I haven’t even started one of the first one’s that drew my interest back into woodworking (circa 1840, minstrel-style banjo)! And another problem is that I am drawn to “Queen Anne”-style furniture (lots of curves, cabriole legs). “Man, I got problems !” (said with Rodney Dangerfield voice) |

I thought this was an interesting thread. Let’s hear from a few more! : ) By the way, I’m not as curious about the number as I am about the dreams! |

I want to build an archtop guitar and maloof style rocker. 2014 will be all about me, right after I get through the dozen or so requests from friends and family to build a table, tv cabinets, cutting boards, bar stools (and list goes on…) -- Nicky |

I spend all day distracted by what I want to do and don’t have time for. It’s like I mentally build everything. Right now, I’ve been building a new workbench in my head along with a router table cabinet. I’ve even drawn them in the middle of meetings. -- Blessed to have a wife who supports my addiction...Hobbies! |
