I just found on my local craigslist a brand new DW625 3hp plunge router for $60. I currently have a 2 1/4 hp Ridgid that does all i need right now. However, for $60 this seems like a smoking deal. anyone put my mind at ease about picking this router up for that kind of money or hopefully even cheaper?

Buy it. The DW625 is a Prince amongst routers.

Paid $100 for one off of CL two years ago and now look for excuses to use it. An excellent machine and well designed and needless to say, it can handle any work you care to throw its way.

I guess you have the Dewalt sitting in your shop by now. It’s a great router, powerful, smooth plunge and I really liked the built in shaft lock. It makes bit changes a breeze, wish my Porter Cable had that. I have owned the 625 and the Ridgid 2 1/4 HP router, there is no question the Dewalt is hands down better. The Ridgid had a stiff plunge mechanism and the on off switch was the hardest I’ve ever used and I’ve pushed the switches on a lot of different tools in my life. I’ve never bothered with another Ridgid power tool since, it was that bad.

unfortunately, I missed out on this great deal. I text the guy as soon as I saw the add, and he text me back within 5 minutes answering my question. I immediately answered his text back saying I was very interested….never heard back from him after that. He must have sold it right in the middle. Too bad, got real excited when i saw that listing…..

Sounds like a great deal, I know more often than not when I find a deal like this it’s usually gone by the time I get a chance to act.
