I’m in the market for a new table saw and I’m thinking of going to the Grizzly Tent Sale in mid May. Can anyone who has been comment on if it is worth going. It is a few hour drive for me to get there which is no big deal but I want to be sure it is worth the trek! At least potentially.

I was hoping that the on line “spring sale” would be good enough for me to pull the trigger but I don’t see any discounts worth writing home about. Maybe I was misinformed about May 1st and the sale hasn’t started yet?

Yeah I’m thoroughly unimpressed with the Spring sale. I have heard that the tent sales can be good, if you get there early and make a beeline for what you want. The good stuff goes quick. Sadly I never went when I lived 3 hours from Bellingham.

Have you looked at the Spring Sale Catalog yet? I got it in the mail yesterday. Quite a few of their machines are marked down, usually about $50. I’ve never been to the tent sale, but I’ve heard you have to get in line pretty early to grab one of the awesome deals. Apparently the Amish furniture makers monopolize the event.

I have this mental image of Amish men with their hats and beards and stiff little suits bullrushing table saws now…

I have not been to one, but been up in Williamsport, PA during one. The traffic is insane! Guess its like Black Friday for Men. The Mall parking lot backs up a few miles early in the morning. Theres a lot of amish around there. If you arent talking about the Muncy Grizzly then I doubt you would have to fight off many amish.

Tom, I have been to Williamsport for a tent sale once. The Black Friday for Men rings a lot of truth. Additionally people do form an orderly line for admittance…. and that line starts really early, at least it did when I went. If you go, go early, go as directly to the tools of your main interest and grab the tag. You may not get bashed with a purse like on Black Friday but there are a lot of people after a lot less really good deals.

I haven’t been to one, but have heard to get there early because things go quick. Here’s the dates and places via Grizzly’s Facebook page
