Topic tags/keywords: lumber exotic cut off question alder bubinga cocobolo oak purpleheart wenge ash cedar mahogany padauk teak willow zebrawood walnut pine maple cherry basswood bamboo Hey there fellow Lumber Jocks. So I moved to Nashville, TN from CA this past year and was wondering if anyone had any good lumber suppliers for exotic/non Lowes & Home Depot wood. I would like to find some places to buy larger pieces to do some fine furniture building. I have also thought about looking around for any generous wood shops that would be willing to let me dive through cut off bins too. I love to use cut off material for small projects to keep me busy between larger projects. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time, -- TIme in the shop is time well spent. |

Hop in the truck and drive down I-24 to Chattanooga, about 2 hours. http://www.chattanoogahardwood.com/ Not sure what is on Nashville. -- Tim P. Calhoun GA. If traffic is passing you on the right, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG DAMN LANE. |

I can’t help you with lumber BUT there is a place called WOODWORKERS TRADING POST in Greenville, Tn that deals in used machinery. Their number is 423 972-7589, you can also find them on craigslist, http://nashville.craigslist.org/tld/3677319003.html -- Stan, Southville, Ky |

Craigslist Is a good start. There’s also an excellent supplier in Knoxville, but that’s a bit of a drive. -- Beer, Beer, Thank God for Beer. It's my way of keeping my mind fresh and clear... |
