Topic tags/keywords: marshall speaker cabinet guitar amp extension cabinett tolex

I’ve been thinking about adding an extension cabinet to my guitar amp. Didn’t take long to find out that I would be better off building the cabinet myself. After searching, I’ve found just about every item I need to build the cabinet from scratch. The only item I haven’t found is the TOLEX for covering the amp. That’s NOT the cover for the speaker grill, its for the amp itself (yet to be determined, probably birch ply). The problem is that I’m trying to match a Marshall Jubilee 2554. This was a special edition amp by Marshall on their 25th anniversary. The cover is gray (or silver). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I’ve got some light grey died veneer, but I don’t remember what was the base wood.

I think it’s a tiger stripe, but I might be wrong.

Google tolex. You’ll come up with bunches like this Try MCM ( for deals on Celestion 12s. You ARE using Celestions, aren’t you?

Thanks guys. And thanks for that link, Steve. I’ve searched and searched and for some reason that particular site hadn’t come up. There are a couple of colors real close to what I need. Unless there is a way to get the material straight from Marshall, that might be as close as I can get.

Of course there will be a Celestion in the cabinet, unless I decide to go with a 2×12, then there will be two. Thanks again.
