If you have made drawbored joints (perhaps for a Roubo bench), what have you used for the pegs? Did you buy dowels or make your own? What types of wood have you had success with?

For my roubo I used purchased 5/8” white dowel. I also have a mallet that I draw bored the head to the handle with a 1/4” walnut dowel. Both worked fine.

I just finished drawboring two 1/4” dowels in 8 M&T joints on a stool and I just used the hardwood dowel from the hardware store. It worked perfectly.
