I found this planer and it seems very cheaply priced. Can anyone tell me if it would be worth my time to go look at it? It’s about an hour and a half away. http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/tls/2999396953.html -- Whoever said nothing is impossible has obviously never tried to staple water to a tree |

I have that planer. It works perfect and at that price, I say pick it up tomorrow! -- --Tyrone - BC, Canada "Nothing is ever perfect, we just run out of time." |

Thats a nice deal. |

You had better get there quickly, that planer would easily sell for 3X that price. I’ve had one for about 10 years and they are workhorses….if I was a little closer (OK maybe 1000 miles closer) I’d be going to get it myself just to resell it! -- Our village hasn't lost it's idiot, he was elected to congress. |

Jump on it. that’s a great deal. -- If the old masters had power tools, they would have used them. So get off your damn High Horse. |

I hope you bought it b/c the owner just said it sold. You can’t be too far away from me if you’re 1.5 from Red Stick. I’m about 2.25 away from there. -- "Well, at least we can still use it as firewood... maybe." - Doss |

Ok so can anyone suggest any one of these. I looked up the lobo and cant find much info. It loook like alot of others from that time. I’m so sick that i missed that deal on the delta. Perfect price to add a helical blade -- Whoever said nothing is impossible has obviously never tried to staple water to a tree |

Yeah, I patrol the craigslist sites across the Southeast in hopes of finding deals. That Delta was a serious bargain (one that I would have gladly driven 2.25 hours to get laughing all the way there and back). I had one sold out from under me in Mandeville earlier last month. What size and budget do you have in mind? I’ll let you know if I see one. -- "Well, at least we can still use it as firewood... maybe." - Doss |

well i want to add a helical blade to whatever i get so not too expensive. something like a floor model 15” – 20”, around $600, good condition. I can add 220v to my shop with no problem. If it is a bench top it would have to already have a helical blade or be a super good deal so i could add the blade. I live in lafayette. What do you know about that LOBO machin? -- Whoever said nothing is impossible has obviously never tried to staple water to a tree |

I don’t see where you’re talking about a Lobo anywhere. I see this: Ok so can anyone suggest any one of these. I looked up the lobo and cant find much info. I’ll tell you now, it’s very hard to find 15-20” planers around here for $600. That Delta was the first one I’ve seen in that price range anywhere near me (central Mississippi) and I usually search a 6 hour drive radius (about 400 miles). If I would’ve been looking when that posted, I would’ve drove down there on Sunday without any further questions. You can’t even get a Dewalt 734 or 735 for that kind of money. I’ll keep on the lookout. If you’re not looking for a huge floor model, the Dewalt 735+shelix (about $1000 together) is a good combo and I think Grizzly makes a lunchbox planer with helical cutter for about $350. -- "Well, at least we can still use it as firewood... maybe." - Doss |

lol yeah i forgot to add the link. http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/search/?areaID=199&subAreaID=&query=planer&catAbb=sss yeah i know 600 is optimistic. I dont want to spend 1000+ on a lunchbox with a shelix. i’d rather get a floor model for that price. I’m offshore rt now so i didn’t get a chance to look on craigs list when that delta posted. that makes me sick that i missed that. steel city makes this one http://www.homedepot.com/Steel-City/h_d1/N-25ecodZ5yc1vZ6kg/R-203233497/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=planer&storeId=10051 I was really looking at getting it. Do you know what this machine is http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/tls/2947203242.html -- Whoever said nothing is impossible has obviously never tried to staple water to a tree |
