I went to this yesterday afternoon as they were in Fredericksburg, which is only 45 minutes from my house. My parents came in as my dad wanted to go also. I gotta say, it was sweet. Better than I expected. I could/should have went back today as I didn’t get to see everything they had. Mainly the bigger demonstrations. I bought 2 tickets online last week for $22. The best money I’ve spent in a long time. But when we walked in we didn’t show anyone the tickets. Kinda weird. Watched the Gripper demonstration. Would have liked to have bought a couple of those, but didn’t. Should have though. Grabbed $55 in stuff from the Peachtree area. Walked around for probably 2 hours just carrying it all over before I paid. Another weird thing. Could have walked right out with it. Saw the Sawstop demonstration. Talked to that guy for quite a while. Debated about this crosscut sled thing the guy was demonstrating. Don’t know what brand or the place that was selling it. But it was a neat sled. If it was $100 or $125, I’d have it. But not $170. Was really impressed with International. Had never seen any of their tools but will consider them when I make large purchases in the future. Met Tommy Mac. And bought some mortiser chisels from Lee Valley. Couldn’t pass up the free shipping. But there was more than we could fit in the day. Well worth the admission. And will be there next time they’re close. -- In this world there's two kinds of people my friend. Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig. |
