Topic tags/keywords: question I am a busy guy. I struggle just to find four or five hours a day to browse lumberjocks and make a few comments (and a few wisecracks). So Facebook? Twitter? I dunno… But, since I have been working on my show, I decided to try and leave updates on Facebook. Maybe try and reach a wider audience. After all, a podcast is more fun to make if more people are watching, right? My question is simple… do woodworkers even use Facebook or similar sites? Charles Neil uses Twitter, but what about you LJ’s? (If you do, friend Stumpy Nubs on Facebook, I look like an idiot with no friends yet!) Oh, and if anybody wants to see my “shop chicken”, she makes an appearance at the end of this weeks episode. Her name is McNugget and she gets along swimmingly with the dogs… -- Subscribe to "Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal"- One of the crafts' most unique publications: http://www.stumpynubs.com/ |

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! I like my hat, but lately I’ve been letting Abraham Lincoln wear it. (In case anybody wonders who that guy hanging on my shop wall with the hat on is…) -- Subscribe to "Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal"- One of the crafts' most unique publications: http://www.stumpynubs.com/ |

I use Facebook quite a bit. Lots of fun people there for me and my family and friends too. It is hard to divide my personal from my professional, even though I have a professional page – so many woodworkers are also ‘friends’. I think it is a good way to network and get word out. Since I re-post my blog there, it brings more people to both my own site and also Lumberjocks. I know not everyone likes it, but I do! :) Sheila -- Designer/Artist/Teacher. You must be some sort of Superwoman, Scrollgirl. With your business, your website, your daily blog, etc… I try and make a sandwich and it takes me half a day, I could never fit all that in! -- Subscribe to "Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal"- One of the crafts' most unique publications: http://www.stumpynubs.com/ |

I have a FB, Twitter and MySpace account. I haven’t been to Twitter or MySpace in years. Facebook I am on more than I am here getting updates from my kids and grand kids. Request sent and accepted now I’ll have to make a new category list for wood workers! For Others, My Facebook page is here. -- Improvise.... Adapt...... Overcome! |

LOL! I train my cats to do most of it! I just sit around and watch TV and eat chocolates and tell them what to do. I use positive reinforcement (catnip) and they fall in line pretty quickly! :D Sheila -- Designer/Artist/Teacher. Stumpy the way these large social networking sites are now it’s not hard to link them up. I use YouTube, Google+, Facebook, Twitter and StumbleUpon. I can post a video on YouTube then have most of them automatically linked to the original post. Google+ is the new thing. Last night a fellow woodworker – social net worker emailed me his woodworking circle. With 3 clicks I had networked with over 500 people. The more the merrier. So lets all be friends. And if the need arises and there is a genuine cause we can get the word out and be heard. Take Sheila I tweet, lj, and Google+ with her, I think I might even have her on Facebook. -- Superdav "No matter where you go - there you are." http://chiselandforge.com |

I agree with Dave. They all integrate together. I still need to learn how to ‘tweet’ a bit more. I use that the least. I know those have to be short though and you all know how hard that is for me! LOL Still learning, but I like “meeting” and being friends with everyone. Woodworkers are great! :) Sheila -- Designer/Artist/Teacher. I don’t know anything about Google+ yet. Steve from Woodworking for Mere Mortals suggested it to me, but perhaps someone here can fill me in on it? -- Subscribe to "Stumpy Nubs Woodworking Journal"- One of the crafts' most unique publications: http://www.stumpynubs.com/ |

I have a Facebook and Twitter account. I seldom use Facebook, and have never tweeted anything. I use WordPress for my blog. The latest version added social networking, so I turned those functions on. Now if someone else wants to like, +1, tweet, or stumble upon one of my articles, the buttons are in place. |

Yes I use FB a fair bit. I’ve linked (friended/liked) several woodworking sites such as LJs, Am Woodworker, etc. -- Shameless - Winner of two Stumpy Nubs Awards |
