All these posts repeating; 'ATT cellco IP can not access LJ site' got me curious?
Appears this is
known issue on ATT cell phones. There are lots of complaints in the ATT customer forums.
YES, ATT has filters that stop access to certain websites.
Do you know it is against free speech laws for your carrier to block websites?
Time to call a lawyer?
Not needed, just let the DOJ and ALCU know of problem and let them pay the lawyers. :-(0)
One step to solving the problem is to learn whether ATT is stopping your packets, or LJ is refusing your packets. This is harder on miniature phone screen, then on a PC with easier access to the system tools; but a required event.
Cricket should be able to help with this determination, but don't hold your breath waiting. The host of LJ, verticalscope.com owns and manages over 1200 websites. Verticalscope uses Cloud Flare as principle spam firewall. It's easy, you pay them money; they do all the work. It's great UNTIL there is problem. Problems require a 3 way NERD phone call or several conference calls to figure out the issues. If using email, it will take 3-5days for each round of emails, and one round is never enough. DAMHIK
Another path for ATT customers is to let professionals deal with problem, and send an email to:
abuse_rbl@abuse-att.net, with your phone IP, and site that is blocked.
According to the ATT forums if you copy the DOJ and ACLU, you get a faster response. hehe
ATT forum users complain RBL abuse email is a giant black hole. If you really want site blocking resolved, might have to spend a couple hours on phone with ATT and keep escalating your complaint till you find a management nerd who can fix.
Best Luck from this nerd…
