Memorial Day reminds me of my 6th Great Grandfather Stephen Longwell. His elbow was wounded while retreating from Long Island with George Washington on August 30, 1776. He could no longer operate a musket. He spent the rest of the war in the artillery corps. Thank you to all veterans for your service and sacrifices. -- Bob in WW ~ "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence |

Thank you for posting this Pottz. Yes we need to remember all of Our Veterans this weekend for making the sacrifice for Our Freedoms. My father served in the Navy during WWII, lied about his age at 16. Then I joined the Army back in the 80’s with the last deployment during Operation Enduring Freedom. -- Eric, building the dream. the "Loft" |

Here is to all who have served to make America great, time and again, throughout the years. I agree that Vets should be praised daily, because the freedoms we enjoy at their expense we enjoy every day. -- Think safe, be safe |

I saw a blurb on the news somebody wants to privatize the VA. A third of the budget will go to CEO and upper management bonuses ;(( -- Bob in WW ~ "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence |
