Topic tags/keywords: question miter gauge table saw craftsman 137 tablesaw

Hello LumberJocks,

I recently bought a sturdy Craftsman Table Saw, Model 137.
It came with fence, stand and wheels but no miter gauge.
Craftsman discontinued the original miter gauge nor has a replacement.

Here are 2 pictures of the miter slot. 11/16” wide by 3/8” deep. The tabs are 1/8” thick.

I have been looking for a universal miter gauge. A miter gauge fence would be nice as well.
There’s so many so what universal miter gauge do you recommend and what’s the website link?

Your help will be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you, Andean

Can’t help with finding a miter gauge, but I would suggest that the first thing you do is grind those stupid tabs off so you can use a standard style miter bar to make it easier to build sleds. Easy to do with a Dremel if you got one.

Cheers,
Brad

Craftsman miter slots are intentionally. 01” (.740” vs .750”) too narrow to fit a standard .750” miter gauge.

Incra miter gauges (M1000 et al.) have a slop adjustment that allows proper fit in either size (.740 or .750) miter gauges.

Compatibility:┬áThe Miter1000’s adjustable miter bar will fit square-sided miter slots between 0.740” and 0.765” wide, 3/8” deep, and with or without a 15/16” wide T-slot at the bottom.

Not to mention the crosscut precision and accurate angle presets you get with an Incra. The make top end rip fences too.

+1 for Incra.

Have your say...
