I found this at a garage sale thinking it was a burnishing tool, but it’s too soft as you can see from the scratch marks. I’m wondering what it might be for. Has the brand Carboloy with H2 4D as well. |

Looks like a diamond wheel dresser tool. There should be a tiny diamond at the end. |

If it’s soft metal shaft, it’s probably not a burnishing tool. You can try it as if it were, to check out the results. Does the end look snapped off? |

Yea, too soft. The tip definitely looks like worn marks going around it so the wheel dressing tool makes sense. Had to lookup what those are :).
