Hello, everyone,

I am a beginner, novice, weekend hobbyist from the Northeaster US. I discovered this forum while looking for some tips and much appreciated the wisdom I see in these discussions. I thought I would jump in :).

Here are a few projects I have done in chronological order:
1. A bird feeder – cherry bottom, oak dowel pillars, and a chimney cap that I had lying around for a roof:

2. A guitar body – walnut top, alder back. I do not have the skills nor the tools to do the neck, so that was store bought:

3. A workbench – when building the guitar I thought having a workbench would have been very useful – so I built one with construction lumber and a solid-core door as the top. This was the first time attempting a castle joint:

4. A coffee table – oak, grain-filled with walnut filler to enhance the grain:

5. An end-grain chessboard: walnut and maple:

I look forward to building more things in the near future :)

I would not call those beginner projects. Intermediate at least. Some nice work there. You should post some or all of them as projects so that people are more likely to see them. Because you posted in the Coffee Lounge forum, which are usually non-woodworking topics, the site does not publish your title and many will not click on it.

Welcome to Lumberjocks.

You may be a novice, but your work is above that category. Like Lazyman said, you should post these on the projects section, so you can get more views and comments. Mel
