I’ve been thinking of picking up a tenoning jig for my table saw, and was going to go with one of the standard models (Delta, Grizzly, Jet, etc…), they are all very close in appearance and features. Anyway, I ran across a few videos of the Powermatic PM-TJ tenon jig, and it looks very interesting. I am aware that it’s discontinued. But was very surprised that I can’t find a single one up for sale on the used market anywhere. That seems very odd to me. Anyone else ever try to hunt done a used one of these models? Thanks. -- Chris, Pennsylvania |

If you figure it out, let rest of use know. :) Powermatic 1799000 PM-TJ Tenoning Jig has been on my used watch list since I saw reviews back in 2017. Which is the same year it was discontinued. Have never seen one since; new or used. The user manual is dated 2015, which may mean it was only made a couple years? Short life span, coupled with the usual PM gold plated price; might explain the rarity in used market? But it’s just a guess. I have never seen one. What makes it different from the Delta and others? |

Even if there were very few made, what surprises me is that people aren’t selling them at ridiculously inflated prices on ebay, like they do with everything else. -- Chris, Pennsylvania |

Even more inflated than the original price? |

I was in the market for one and never found it. But all the reviews (trusted reviews, from woodworkers) aren’t good. There was apparently a few flaws they forgot to work out before putting it on the market. Regardless, it was a clever design, curious why they discontinued it. -- Our village hasn't lost it's idiot, he was elected to congress. |

I bought the Jet version several years ago and only used it a few times. Worked well, just fouund that I preferred to cut my tenons by hand. Guess I ought to put it on the trade-swap section! -- "Good enough" is just another way of saying "it could be better"... |

Seems like tenoning jigs are on back order or discontinued everywhere. I scanned ebay last night, found a middle aged Delta (miter bar adjustable for snug fit, 2nd set of miter bar holes in base for left tilt saws) in never used, shoved in a drawer condition with the protective plastic still on the logos. I snagged it! |
