I have an older Performax 16/32 drum sander with the 2 1/2” hose connector on the drum cover. Sometime in my past someone made a new cover for me that had a 4” hose connector fitting but it got destroyed in a move I made a couple years ago. The person who made the cover for me is no longer responding to emails or phone calls so I am on the hunt.

Looking for options on how I can get a 4” hose connected to this cover. I am currently using a 4 to 2 1/2” adapter but would prefer to not restrict the flow with the adapter.

Anyone out there retrofit theirs in some way that I could consider or have a source of someone that could make me one?

Thanks!

I have a Supermax 19/38, and I’d like to up size that port to 6””. On my old Delta I completely replace the hood with a wooden top….this may not be useful to you since: 1) it’s not very pretty (I’m very much function over form) and 2) it’s not very pretty. But it did work really well. The top is 2 pieces, the lower piece was mostly for elevation, ten the hood just sat on it.

Do you have any pictures? Do you just need an adapter or the whole cover?

Here are some photos of my unit showing the 2 1/2 to 4” adapter I am using and a 4” plate I had laying around that I thought about trying to adapt to the cover.

I love my 1632. I’m thinking that anything over 2.5” is overkill anyway. Performax designed it with a 2.5” hole for a reason. It’s not a planer or jointer. I’ve never had an issue as the drum sander makes really fine “dust”, not chips.

I don’t know if the later version of the Perfomax hoods will transfer over, but my 16/32 has the light colored hood and a 4” port. A 4” SDR street elbow fits perfectly.
