These guys salvaged a tree that was going to be firewood. Milling a huge beautiful tree using an Alaskan chainsaw mill. They earned it too.

That’s a big ole tree. Awesome grain to it. Them fellas worked their butt off for it tho. Only machine they seemed to have was the chainsaws.

Chainsaw mills are sure a lot of work.

A friend’s son began his sawyering/lumber/woodworking business with one of those and used it for years as he went through high school and college. He eventually built his own bandmill and now uses a bigger commercially available mill. He specializes in reclaiming urban/suburban trees, particularly after storms. Even with bigger machines, sawyering is hard work.
