I need to connect my festool vacuum to a floor machine. It has a dust port of about the same OD as the hose end. Can someone please link to the right adapter for this?

Unless Festool makes an adapter for it’s proprietary hose, you may be able to make one with some schedule 40 PVC and a heat gun/hair dryer. See Youtube for tutorials.

Peachtree Woodworking has a selection of fittings. Ideally, I’d want one that slips over the hose and has a rubber end that slips over your floor machine. I’ve broken a couple ports inserting an adapter inside those plastic ports and the tight fit needed to make a good seal cracked the port. YMMV

Are the two Philips screws holding the entire vacuum channel or is it removable so you can insert the hose
directly?

I had a similar problem. Go to Rockler. They have some smaller rubbery adapter for routers, palm sanders etc.
I was able to find something every time with one or two of their adapters.

Good thought but after looking (because I was not as clever) those are what hold the plastic fitting that channels air/dust up from the work.I’m going to see if I can find a plumbing coupling of some kind. I’ve had to do this kind of meatball surgery with other DC connections. If there was ever a bigger time suck (ha ha) I don’t know what it is.

Have your say...
