One of my first customers has a business, and part of her business involves interviewing creative types. She was curious to learn more about how I stumbled into bowl and box making with burls and galls… especially since she primarily thought of me as a creative writer.
She asked to interview me and, at the risk of making an idiot of myself, I agreed.
In the interview, I do mention the excellence of Lumber Jocks, and I also take a moment to recognize how woodworking has helped to keep me sober.
Hoping you stick with your woodworking. I didn't start mine until I realized it was a form of therapy for me following some seriously life-changing incidents I was having trouble coping with. I don't do it to earn a living, but a little bit on the side like this does help.
Thank you for checking it out. I hope I can continue my journey into Michigan's winter. Currently I don't have a shop, just a garage. We don't use it for our cars, so the space is mine… but the space will be cold!
I hope to get some kind of propane heater to take some of the edge off.
Very nice interview.
