So when did these become stupid expensive?

Have they been discontinued?

I have a couple broken ones I’d like to replace.

depends on size? smaller ones are like $5-6 a piece on Amazon, but bigger ones get pricier.

Probably a day after I lost my mind reading powers…

Many clamps on the market with high and low prices… and being a proud owner of diversified selection of clamps, I will fess up to purchasing Irwin in the past.

Maybe a picture or a link of/to your grief could assist my befuddled brain to understand the full extent of your complain.
I have experienced 300% differences between products when it comes to diversified vendors.

So when did TIMBER become stupid expensive?... probably since I keep comparing todays prices with that of 20 years ago!

Everything wood working made overseas is 20-25% higher, compared to 2 years ago.
Plus, clamps have always been overpriced.

Also guessing you were like me, and bought your initial Irwin Quick Clamps, via multi-pack ‘special buy’ bundles at local BORG during holiday sales? They were dirt cheap. Pretty sure I paid $5-7 each buying packs of (2) medium and (2) heavy duty quick clamps. The mini-clamp bundles were (4) for $14.99. Last x-mas the same Irwin bundles were priced double what I paid in previous years, and took them off my ‘if all else fails’ shopping list for kids.

Maybe you can get lucky, and find bundles on sale black Friday? Only 11 weeks away. :-(0)

BTW – Have you priced parallel clamps lately?

Best Luck!

There are tons of competitor clamps out there and I favor the over-priced Jorgensen version. They’re stronger and have nicer jaw pads.

Well, I just looked on ebay and saw 4-pack Irwin for $36. I have about a dozen Wolfcraft clamps that I bought 20 years ago and they are $36 each now.

I’m replacing 12” and 18” broken ones.

I have a really nice set of corner clamp pads that I 3D printed… but they don’t fit the DeWalt version… they were designed for the Irwins

I tried these and they work really well. Not as big as the Quick Grips, but we don’t use them for glue ups anyway, just hold things.
