I’m in need of a new vacuum cleaner for regular vacuuming of my house. All surfaces are hardwood or sheet vinyl so I don’t need carpet tools. I’m thinking that a good shop vac would work and be less expensive than a regular vaccum cleaner.
5 – 6 gallons should be big enough. Would like something not too noisy and have rubber or rubberized wheels to prevent marring of the floor.
Would appreciate recommendations.
Thank You.

Did you find something that fits the bill? I’d think the usual plastic shop vac accessories would wear out pretty fast on an entire house. I spoke to my resident Director of House Vacuums and she said you don’t want a beater bar as it loses suction. However there are some units that have well built heads that are larger than shop vac types and utilize stiff whiskers around the edge to minimize suction loss.

I have a Shark Rotator Professional, and love it. All hardwood floors with area and entryway rugs.
I have 9’ ceilings on my first floor and have no issues getting the spider webs in the corners.

Easy to clean, and maintain as well.

Have your say...
