Topic tags/keywords: checking in

Hi gang,
I’m afraid I’ve let my attendance on LJs slide, I’ve gotten involved in so many activities I haven’t visited my old favorite and for many years only woodworking forum fall by the wayside.
I’m still in business as a contractor and woodshop owner and available to teach for my local community college. I’m still doing a variety of woodworking projects but since the pandemic situation has hit I’ve gotten into turning bowls.
It’s kind of ironic that the first day I’ve checked in quite a while happens to be my 13th year anniversary since joining Lumberjocks.
I miss a lot of the gang here that have become online friends,I also miss the great friends I met here who are no longer with us,It’s good to say hello to those of you who have been here for long enough the never-ending comments of A1-Jim, and of course greetings to the newer members that don’t recall those days too.

Aren’t we all blessed to have found this amazing activity called “woodworking”.

Peace and joy to you all and happy woodworking.

Happy Anniversary… I too have slipped away within the realm of life but glad to see you’re alive and have continued woodworking to the great extent that you have. All the best to many more anniversaries!

Congrats, Jim! I’m about 15 months behind you. I remember 20k members, and the ribbing you got later for 20k posts! Keep it up!

Happy 13th to you Jim. I’m years behind you but enjoy having you on LJ’s. Did you figure out some better dust collection for the lathe?

I’m sure we’re all glad to hear from you Jim. I know I am.

You should post some of those bowls you’ve been turning.

Thanks, gang it’s fun to be back,so good to see you shinning faces.

Hey Dave, I have not come with anything permanent, but I’m using the same plastic DC shoot you have, but for now, I just put a couple of clamps with the bars sticking out of the back, put about a 3” board on top of the bars and the dust shoot ontop of that, it’s not as cool as yours with the frame that lets it swivel but is better than before. I”m also going to try what a guy on line does and have a fan at my back to help blow the dust into the DC set up.
Petey, I’ve been distracted by home repairs later , so i don’t have any interesting projects to share

I should have looked behind me I didn’t know there were so many people following me :)

There is a good number of guys who have been here a lot longer than me. like Karson.max, Scott Bryan, TopamaxSurvivor, Bureaucrat,WayneC , ND2ELK, and a bunch more.
