I’ve recently acquired 3 medium sized pieces from a Monkey Puzzle tree. Has anyone tried this stuff? I did do a search on it and I gather it’s kinda like pine?? I also searched youtube and found several videos on this particular wood. I gather the tree has been dead for several months now and the pieces didn’t feel very heavy, and in this heat …every day is like 12 hrs in a kiln. I sealed the ends and will let it site for a while. I guess I’m looking for a bit of insight or experience. Thanks

Have heard of/seen Monkey Pod,but never seen or heard of monkey puzzle. in reading up it does sound like a southern hemisphere counterpart to pine.

I have this piece of Araucaria that I purchased while traveling in southern Argentina. It looks nothing like the wood described in the Wood Database as Monkey Puzzle, aka Araucaria, Chilean Pine. It is very hard, closed grain with flecks like Sycamore.
