Hey all,
I have a small truck camper I built with an overlay door. I’m wondering if I can use Soss hinges oriented front to back instead of mortised into the edge of the door and a standard jamb. So it would be mortised into the back of the door and into the outside wall of the camper. The door is only 1” thick so the mortise, depending on the hinge used, would go most of the way through.
Would this work?
And do I figure out how far in the mortise can be before the corner of the door binds when opening?

My overlay is 1 3/4” and the door stile is 4”.

Thanks!

pictures would help me, and a link to the hinge you want to use…
