Does the older 34-802 and the newer 34-802 use the same blade guard assembly?

Since a 34-802 is a 34-802 regardless of age, there should be no difference if it has the same catalog number. Plus, given that the Unisaw remained virtually unchanged since the 30’s with only some very minor changes, you can pretty much interchange parts across years. It is not uncommon to replace parts on newer saws with parts made decades prior, and visa versa. The one exception is you cannot mix/match right tilt/left tilt specific parts.

On another forum a guy had ps a type 1 I have a type 2.

From the parts diagrams, it looks like the only difference is one has a dust door in front of the cabinet, the other doesn’t. Might be a slightly re-designed motor cover as well. Nothing to worry about.

I have type 2, the other guy has type 1… also the age is different…
