I am looking at getting a belt and disc sander. I like the Jet J-4002 which is a 42” belt and 8” disc. I am also considering the similar version with a 2” wide belt.

Does anyone have one of these and comment on their experiences with it? Thanks

Had the Grizzly version. Nicely rigid, fast cutting. Have multiple belt sanders with disc built in so didn’t use the disc part much.

Cheap alum miter gauge was adequate, yours might come with a better one.

Was a good tool. Never had tracking issues. Dust collection is ok, but does nothing for what doesn’t enter the tool. IIRC there are two dust ports, one 2-1/4” for the belt and a smaller one for the disc.

Not particularly loud. Little vibration.

Jim Bob sez check it out.
