Smitty_Cabinetshop posted a project , a side table for his Blackstone griddle. I didn’t want to be a hijacker, so I did this instead. Congratulations Smitty, that’s a nice piece of work.

I got this one. Last spring, Covid pandemic was just getting a tight grip on all of us. And I had to have this. I can’t explain it. This is the 36”model. I’d been on the bubble about buying one, then this was $100 off, that’s all it took.

The only modification I did was to add windbreakers along the sides. I used disposable aluminum cooking pans.
As well as wind blowing in, I have noticed that a lot of heat comes out the sides. This makes the side tables almost useless, things get hot. I saw somewhere that the heat shields sold by Blackstone prevent the lid from closing. I just did that last week so I it’s still a theory.

That accessory steamer lid is new this year, haven’t tried it yet.

Here’s my fugly grill cart. It used to have a disc/belt sander mounted to it, I should be ashamed of how cheap I can be. It holds a lot of tools and necessaries, that’s the nicest thing I can say about it. Maybe it just needs a paint job?

This will more than likely be converted to natural gas soon. I have to redo some plumbing to add in another quick disconnect. My back up generator uses a 3/4” QD, this one needs a 3/8” QD. As usual, overcoming inertia is the hardest part.

I like the size. It’s nice to have different temperature zones. You can get it with or without the hood. I wasn’t getting it without a hood, just my preference. If I used it on a covered porch, maybe.

I spent several hours seasoning the cook surface before using it, time well spent. Cleanup is quick and easy.

That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

Fugly it is, but also appears to have the other “F” Functional.

If you opt for paint, it will likely be Tom Foolery done well :-)
