Has anyone upgraded their dewalt 735 with a helical cutter head? If so, would you be willing to sell the OEM cutter head? I was planning some hickory and had some shavings get under the blade keeper on the cutter head. Well, I had no idea this occurred and the next piece of hickory that I sent through must've snagged on the, now bent, blade cover and all hell broke loose! I have a couple striped out holes on the cutter head now and I'd like to replace it. I have already re-tapped the holes, but the new screws stick up just a smidge (I have tried every bolt/screw sold at Ace hardware, Lowe's, and HD) and cause gouges in the wood. I'm not wanting to upgrade to a Byrd head because I'll be upgrading the planer eventually! Thanks Chad.
Lol, it sounded like a bag of marbles in a blender. It bent the top plate up and broke some a few bolts holding it down. It tripped the breaker And shut down. The dust shroud cracked and a few gouges in the sides. The only irreparable damage was the cutter head. I'm sure I could retap holes in different spots. But I've already fooled with this SOB too much and am done with it.
