Catching up a little on some yard sale finds from last year. First a Davis and Cook 30” level made in Watertown NY patent date Dec 7 86 Same day an estate sale at an old farm house this Stratton Brothers 28” level with wood case. Greenfield pat. July 16 1872. It was sitting on the dining room table in the case, with the dishes and silverware. 5 dollars. All I needed to do was wipe it with a soft cloth. And two weeks later this Stanley Adjustable 30” level pat’d 5-8-06, 6-23-96, 7-17-94. About an hour with a little Brasso and OOOO steel to gently clean the bling. 10 bucks. Sitting on some shelves in the garage with some old yard tools. And my wife actually goes on line, looks these sales up, and encourages me to go! Gotta love it! -- Bob Gnann |
