New to the site. I have been enjoying the threads over the weekend. I look forward to getting to know people here.

I inherited a lathe from my grandfather-in-law a few years back. He was a joy to learn from and I hope that the questions I can’t ask him I’ll be able to get help on here.

Happy turning,
Ben

Welcome Ben. I have NO experience turning but I’m sure you’ll get lots of help from others here.

Very nice bowls. I have a small lathe but it has not seen much use recently. We got some burr oak from a friend in ND that might be fun to turn a bit … I’m also in MN … Welcome.

Welcome
I’m in Minnesota also. we live in the north suburbs. close enough to see a stadium if I drive a couple blocks but far enough to not be near last summers riots. You’ll find me wandering Siweks lumberyard if im having a bad day or am bored out of my mind with money to burn.

Any of the other Minnesotans enter projects in the state fair?

Now that Youngblood is gone :-(

I’ve never entered anything in the state fair, and not actually heard of anything like that for the state fair, what is it? I’ve just done stuff in the Northern Woods Expo with the MN Woodworkers Guild
