Topic tags/keywords: youtube video feedback ask link

Hi folks, I wanted to ask if you could give feedback on a YouTube video if I post a link? Or do you know forums where you can give each other feedback?

If the content is appropriate for this forum, go ahead and post the link.

If there is not at least a teasing picture and text to explain why I would look for the video, I will not click on the video link. Sometimes with the text only I have no idea what it would be about.

Agreed. “Check out my video” doesn’t cut it for me either.

Wait, your telling me YouTube has videos on there? I gotta check this out.

If someone tells me to click something I better have a good explanation as to why included. If your post count is less than 10 I probably won’t click either because Ted lurks everywhere.

Ok, here, click this video, because I get paid for each click and video view. Is that a good enough reason for you?

“Watch me cut this board.” Honestly, why do I want to watch some person do something in the shop that I do every day and do it better than they do.

I suppose rookies need videos on how to use a pocket-hole jig, but LJ is not the forum to advertise it on.

Still, it’s a free and open site, so post away if that makes you happy.

Is this the latest way to tease people into looking at the TED’S woodworking video?

My main problem with 99% of videos is how LONG people take to get to the point! Or overly long boring intros with crappy music and “effects” from the 90s. I could read a 1 page article with pics on how to cut a tenon in 3 minutes, yet someone can somehow turn this into a 45 minute video mansplaining things like I am 5.

Sometimes, because they know their delivery is deadly dull, they resort to time lapse video and race through the real visual content of their topic.
