Topic tags/keywords: wood identification

Can anyone tell what this bed is made of and/or what would be a close match. There’s a made in India tag on it. I need to build matching nightstands. I matched the stain color with General Finishes RTM system but can’t decide what’s the best wood to use. Any thoughts? Thanks.

India – mahogany, rosewood. My guess.

Could be some kind fo acacia as well…. I’ve seen a lot of stuff show up here at my house, made in Viet Nam and other Pac Rim locations that are made of acacia. Grows like a weed, I understand. But, it’s also halfway decent wood… Pretty stable, decent looking grain, etc.

Better close up pictures of the grain might help some though.

Mahogany might be a good sub… Looks almost like a cherry, maybe? Alder might work?
