Hi Everyone I live in South Africa. Bought a Stanley Sweetheart No 62 around 2014. Recently moved to a new house with a new workshop and discovered my iron(blade) is missing. Look everywhere can’t find it. Probably got lost while moving. My problem is that I cant find a new A2 iron for this plane especially in South Africa. I tried to order online but was unsuccessful. I read somewhere on the internet that these handplane are off the market and are not making them anymore.?????? I ended up using a Veritas iron. I tried it and did a little grinding on the side of the iron but is not working so well when I tried to adjust when planing. Any suggestion? I do not want to end up throwing my plane away! From what I read some time back, the Woodriver replacement blades fit the new Stanley 62s. What I read at the same time was that there aren’t any other replacement blades available for that plane. Not sure if it’s A2 if you are intent on that specific material. -- I collect hobbies. There is no sense in limiting yourself (Don W) - - - - - - - - Kenny in SW VA |

$22.00 U.S. shipping to Canada, so same price as the blade itself:) Guess it is still an option? -- Lifting one end of the plank. |

Lee Valley doesn’t have a Blade for the Stanley #62. Wish they did have a PMV-11 version! -- Lifting one end of the plank. |

Official Stanley part number: https://www.toolservicenet.com/dewalt/en/c//p/P12-142-1 Hock Tools in USA will custom produce blades in O1 steel, if you can’t find any other source for blade. -- If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all, - Albert King - Born Under a Bad Sign released 1967 |

Ron Hock from Hock tools is a very nice man, I have called the company in the past and surprisingly I was actually talking with him….I am sure he will ship the blade to South Africa. -- Nature is my manifestation of God. Not so sure, according to his site, blade not offered, and his note sounds like he has little use for this plane:) Please note that these blades do not fit the newer ill-advised Stanley “Sweetheart” planes, -- Lifting one end of the plank. |

MM Tool Parts seems to show them in stock (not showing back ordered like most of the others do anyway) and they have international shipping options. -- Nathan, TX -- Hire the lazy man. He may not do as much work but that's because he will find a better way. |

Andre, How far north are you? You really need to set up a PO box south of the border. :-) Well, after the pandemic is under control anyway. -- Nathan, TX -- Hire the lazy man. He may not do as much work but that's because he will find a better way. |
