Topic tags/keywords: question

I just purchased a Unisaw and am changing the arbor bearings and belts, basically a general clean up. Also going back to the original 5HP three phase motor (it had a 3HP single phase motor). The question is which lubricant’s should be used and where i.e. pivot points, bushings, worm/quadrant gears, etc. This machine is missing the motor cover, there is a dust collection port below where the cover would mount, I don’t have a dust collation system, would a motor cover trap too much motor heat? Thanks in advance

You will get lots of opinions but I use this on virtually everything in my shop that moves and is exposed to saw dust.

As for a motor cover, they came from the factory with one installed. No reason for it not to work now.
