I’ve got a little play table for the kids made from 1x stock. On the top edge, I’d like to use this moulding as edge banding. Was trying to avoid brads just to keep the top smooth. Any one know of a glue that will work? Here’s what I have and was considering:
1. 2P-10 CA glue and activator
2. Regular super glue
3. Construction adhesive
4. Gorilla glue
5. Contact cement (trying to avoid due to labor/smell etc.)

Thanks!

PVC edgebanding is treated with a sizing so glue sticks to the back on hot glue edgebanding machines. I’ve glued 1mm PVC with Titebond 2 Extend. That didn’t work on the 3mm, nor did water based contact cement due to the banding having “memory” from being coiled up. Barge contact cement worked very well.

If it wants to curl up at the ends you’re going to need a real strong bond.

No idea if the molding you want to use is rated or prepped for gluing. Best advise I can give you if it isn’t is to rough up the back with something like 80 grit sandpaper.

Have your say...
