Topic tags/keywords: donate question planting trees Hello Folks, I’m new to this site and fairly new to woodworking in general. After some time I’ve finally been able to set up my hobby workshop so I’m excited to finally try things. My first, and maybe kind of strange question to this site is this. Does anyone know of a good/trustworthy organization that works to replant trees? I’d like to at least donate a little money from time to time to help replace the resource that I use. Much appreciated. |

HI GMR2017 Squirrels take care of all my tree planting. Those suckers bury acorns all over the place in my yard. |

I wish I had squirrels to plant trees. All the ones near me just eat my bird seed and chew up my christmas decorations. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I’ll give those a look. |

Last year I collected a bunch of acorns in NJ from an amazingly huge White oak tree. I did a little YouTube watching. |

I’m not sure if every state has them, but in Ohio we have conservancy districts in each county, and they are very good for local programs for tree starts, and rescues. I imagine they do a lot more, but that is what I know them for. My Wife and I have planted thousands of trees on our land over the years, just to keep something growing every year. Of course the deer call a lot of them browse. Then when they start getting a little size to them the bucks come around and rub a lot of them into the ground….. You plant 1000, and are happy if 500 make it. :-) We used to get about 1000 starts a year, and I don’t remember spending more than 50 bux on any one year. -- Think safe, be safe |
