Topic tags/keywords: flea market used tools used machinery

Here in Canada, one of the popular woodworking retailers is known as “Canadian Woodworker”.
They are independent retailers, though some of their inventory is branded ‘Rockler’.
In the month of January each year, they have a “Woodworker’s Flea Market” where you can consign your surplus tools and equipment, and either take the cash when it sells or redeem your proceeds towards new tools and machinery.

I’ve had quite a bit of success with this in years past, both selling and buying.
This is a great deal for anyone living in the western half of Canada. Maybe too good, I bring home way more items than I consign to the sale.

Worth checking out, if you’re within driving distance to one of their stores.

I’ve picked up some bargains at their flea markets. It’s a great idea.

They used to get all my business, lately been dealing more with Busy Bee, really not much left to buy or upgrade anymore:) then again Lee Valley still seems to attract a lot of my Dollars? Just ordered 2 more PMV-11 irons!

That sounds great! That happened once that I know of at the local Woodcraft, maybe 10 years back.

This year I have not been to 1 yard sale, flea market, antique fair or anything. Bummer!

OOPS! I meant 2020, not this year. Maybe about March or April I’ll get it right.

Foghorn: I was afraid they wouldn’t do it this year…and suddenly I got the email from them just today!! Andre: I like to find little giblets from the Lee Valley catalog, like tanged 1/4” drive adaptors for bit braces. There’s no end of these toolbox stuffers there. hairy: yeah, been one very dry season, slim pickens for sure. Plus, cops around here can slap a $180 fine on you for simply skating alone on ice rinks w/o a proper mask. But I’ll be at the Store with my wallet!!

I’ll let you know what I see when I make the rounds.
