Could someone share the photo loading trick with me to stop my photos from displaying upside down? Much appreciated

Sometimes my pics will post sideways no matter what I do.
To fix this simply edit the pic a little bit, save it and then repost the new edited pic. This can be as little as cropping the pic just the tiniest bit.

Not sure why they come in sideways but it seems like they often do.
Good luck.

Turn your camera upside down when you take the shot.

Crop your pictures the tiniest bit in our phone or with some simple (“Preview” on a Mac) editing software. It works for me every time.

If you’re posting directly from an ios device, here’s the key: take pics in landscape mode, home button to the right. Or, volume buttons on top of device. No edits needed if you do that.

If I take a picture in the upright position with my phone, It show correct on the computer, but transfers sideways onto the LJ site.

I have to turn my phone sideways then take the picture, if I plan to post a picture on this site.

I guess this is just a phone issue right? I always post from the photo app in my computer.

The iPhone 11 Pro and now the new 12 are insanely great cameras. My workflow includes Adobe Lightroom. I fire it up on my iPhone 11 Pro, it imports any new images from the camera roll, when then go to the cloud. Sometimes I adjust the images on my phone, sometimes on the iPad Pro and sometimes on my Mac. Where doesn’t matter. I always export them on the Mac and post them on the LJ web site and I’ve never had an image oriented incorrectly.

Unrelated to the thread, but I’ve got a DJI Pocket 2 coming this week that I’m really excited about. Incredibly high res photos and videos along with a 3-axis gimbal for stabilization and effects.

I have an android phone and typically need to crop the picture in order for it to display correctly. Doesn’t require much of a change to get the pictures rotated. May be other ways, but this works for me.

Yes just “crop” it a little on your pc. That is how I fixed it.

For posting picture, I shoot them in VGA resolution. Please don’t waste bandwidth (and energy).

About the orientation, before posting, I test with preview.
If it is not good, i remove it from the post. Then I edit the picture with “photo” in windows 10.
Even if the picture is upright in “photo” doesn’t mean it will be upright in LJ.
I rotate the picture and rotate it back to the upright position and save the “change” (under another name but that is not necessary).
Then the new version will appear upright on LJ.
