I was wondering if anyone has some sketches or plans for some wooden trains, boats or cares for my 2 year old grandson. Nothing elaborate, just some basic bandsaw type boats, cars or trains I could do for Christmas and even later down the road. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I bought the plans and some parts for a train from Cherry Tree Toys and made the train last Christmas for my Granddaughter. It came out beautifully. Unfortunately, their service was poor as they sent me wrong parts and wouldn’t correct their mistake. If you buy from them, note that the parts kits don’t always match the plans.

Don’t over think it, just draw up your own, this is a sample of the ones I make for my WW club holiday give away.

I also make smaller cars, these have 1 inch wheels. These are made quick and easy on the scroll saw with 3/4 to 1 inch scraps mostly.

I have posted a few of these in My Projects

I make about a thousand toys a year for our club donation to children’s hospitals and The Salvation Army. I have developed my own designs for them. Trucks, tractors, dozers, trains dogs, T -Rex, rhinoceroses etc. Attached are some photos and some patterns.

I see some plywood, but are they mostly construction grade pine as a whole? Thinking about strength as a whole….while I really like the cars by Davevand…wondering of the windsheild/tops brake off?
